What happens at the test

You have 45 minutes to answer 24 questions based on the .

You cannot bring children or other family members with you to the centre.

What to bring to your test

You must bring the same ID that you used to book the test. Your photo will also be taken on the day to confirm your ID.

You will not be able to take the test and you will not get a refund if you do not bring the correct ID or if you refuse to have your photo taken.

If you pass the test

You must score 75% or more to pass the test.

You鈥檒l get a 鈥榰nique reference number鈥�. You鈥檒l need this number to complete your citizenship or settlement application. The Home Office will use it to check that you鈥檝e passed.

If you took your test before 17 December 2019, you鈥檒l have a letter with a 鈥榯est reference ID鈥� instead of a unique reference number.

If you have lost your letter, send a letter explaining that you have lost it with your citizenship or settlement application.

If you fail the test

You can rebook the test as many times as you need. You鈥檒l have to pay each time.
