Eligibility

You must prove that:

  • you鈥檙e 18 or over
  • you鈥檙e free to give notice of marriage, to marry or enter into a civil partnership in the UK within 6 months of your arrival
  • you鈥檙e in a genuine relationship
  • you鈥檙e visiting the UK for less than 6 months
  • you鈥檒l leave the UK at the end of your visit
  • you鈥檒l not live in the UK for extended periods through frequent or successive visits, or make the UK your main home
  • you鈥檙e able to support yourself during your trip (or have funding from someone else to support you)
  • you鈥檙e able to pay for your return or onward journey (or have funding from someone else to pay for the journey)
  • you have proof of any other activities you want to do in the UK, as allowed by the Visitor Rules

    You should get a decision within 3 weeks of your appointment.

    You might be able to pay an extra 拢500 for a decision within 5 working days or 拢1,000 for a decision within 24 hours (not including weekends or bank holidays). Check with your visa application centre.

    At your appointment you鈥檒l have your fingerprints and photograph (鈥榖iometric information鈥�) taken.

    After your appointment you'll be told when a decision has been made about your visa.
