HM Land Registry portal: agreed notice to note a charging order (e-AN1)

How Business e-services customers can request an agreed notice to note a charging order on e-AN1 through the portal.

Start an application

.

Select 鈥楴etwork Services鈥�, then select e-AN1 Agreed Notice.

  1. Some applications for an Agreed Notice cannot be lodged as an e-AN1.
    Select 鈥榁iew limitations鈥� to check details. If any of the limitations apply, you will need to apply using the Document Registration Service or by post or DX.
  2. Enter the title number.
  3. Select 鈥楴ext鈥�.

Check title details

  1. Check that the property details for the title number you entered are correct.
  2. If they are correct, select one of the options in 鈥楢pplication details鈥�. These decide if the application affects the whole of the land or a registered charge. If the application affects a registered charge then please provide the date of the charge. Please note that if the application affects only part of the land you will not be able to proceed and you will have to apply by post or DX.
  3. If they are not correct you will need to check that you entered the correct title number. Select 鈥楶revious鈥� to return to the previous step to amend the title number.
  4. Select 鈥楴ext鈥�.

Enter applicant details

  1. Enter the forename and surname of the applicant, if an individual, or the full name of the applicant if it is an organisation. If there is more than one applicant, enter any one of the names in this first step. You can add the other names later. These fields are not case sensitive, but the format you use here will appear in the PDF acknowledgement.
  2. Select 鈥楴ext鈥�.

Check and amend applicant details

  1. Check that the name of the applicant you entered earlier is correct. If it is incorrect, 鈥楨dit鈥� to amend it or 鈥楻emove鈥� to start again. If there is more than one applicant you can now add the other names using 鈥楢dd鈥�.
  2. Select 鈥楴ext鈥�

Select the notice type

  1. You need to choose which type of 鈥楴otice鈥� you want to protect. You have 3 options:
    • a charge
    • a charging order under the Agricultural Holdings Act 1986
    • a charging order under the Charging Orders Act 1979
      Select one of the options, for example: 鈥楢greed Notice to note a charging order under the Charging Orders Act 1979鈥�.
  2. Select 鈥楴ext鈥�.

Enter the plaintiff details

  1. As the Agreed Notice protects a charging order, you need to add the name of the plaintiff (the person or organisation claiming the interest). The full name of the plaintiff must be entered. If there is more than one person you only need to enter one name at this stage. The other names can be added later.
  2. Select 鈥楴ext鈥�.

Amend plaintiff details

  1. Check that the name of the plaintiff you entered earlier is correct. If not, select 鈥榚dit鈥� to amend the name or select 鈥楻emove鈥� to delete it and start again. Additional names can also be added using 鈥楢dd鈥�.
  2. Select 鈥楴ext鈥�.

Enter charging order details

  1. Specify the type of charging order from the drop down list:
    • an interim charging order
    • a final charging order
    • a charging order
      Enter the name of the court and the date of the charging order.
  2. Select 鈥楴ext鈥�.

Preview and submit application

  1. Check the summary of the plaintiff details, confirm that they are correct by selecting the checkbox. If it is not correct select 鈥楶revious鈥� to change the appropriate information.
  2. Select 鈥楴ext鈥�.

Entitlement to apply

  1. Provide details of your entitlement to apply for the notice by selecting one of the options.
    Select the second option: you will need to lodge documentary evidence in the form of an electronic attachment.
  2. Select 鈥楴ext鈥�.

Add supporting evidence

  1. Enter details of the 鈥楽upporting evidence鈥� you want to lodge to validate your right to apply. If you have submitted it previously with another electronic application select the second option. You will have the option to look for the relevant document. If this is not the case, select the first option.
  2. Select 鈥楴ext鈥�.

Upload attachment

  1. Enter details of the 鈥楽upporting evidence鈥� you want to lodge to validate your right to apply. Various options are available from the drop down menu. The attachment must be in PDF, GIF, JPEG or TIFF format.
  2. Select 鈥楢dd鈥�.

  1. After you have attached your file, you will also need to select the checkbox to confirm that the evidence you have attached is a true copy of the original.
  2. Select 鈥楴ext鈥�.

Add or remove documents

  1. See a summary of the options you have chosen. You can 鈥楢dd鈥� or 鈥楻emove鈥� documents.
  2. Check all the information is correct, select 鈥楴ext鈥�.

Preview and submit application

  1. Enter your Customer reference. The reference can be anything that enables you to relate the application to your client or file.
  2. Preview the application details in PDF format, print or save the document as required.
  3. By selecting 鈥楽ubmit鈥� you are agreeing to pay the appropriate fee. Select 鈥楽ubmit鈥�.

Confirmation

This confirms that the application has been submitted successfully. An application reference (and if the day list is open a priority date and time) will be displayed should you wish to make an enquiry.

Logout

When you have completed your tasks, select 鈥楲ogout鈥� at the top of the screen to exit the system securely.
