How to ask for a refund if you've paid too much Economic Crime Levy.

Who can claim a refund

You can ask for a refund if you鈥檝e either:

  • paid too much in error
  • amended your Economic Crime Levy return and you now owe less

If the amount due has changed because the original information you gave us is wrong or your circumstances have changed,聽you must submit an amended return聽before asking for a refund.

What you need

To claim your refund, you鈥檒l need:

  • your company name
  • the refund amount
  • the reason for claiming a refund
  • the account details you used to make the payment
  • your contact details 鈥� name, email address and phone number

How to claim

You must use the online service to ask for your refund.

You鈥檒l need to sign in to the service with the Government Gateway user ID you used to register for the Economic Crime Levy.

  • on the confirmation email HMRC sent you to confirm your Economic Crime Levy return had been submitted
