They follow a聽聽in February 2019 that judged the overall effectiveness of the council鈥檚 children鈥檚 services to be inadequate.
The Department for Education (DfE) issued a revised direction to Stoke-on-Trent City Council聽alongside the Report into children鈥檚 services, Stoke-on-Trent City Council: September 2019. This direction was revoked on 10 February 2025.
