This document presents the findings from the third year of the longer semi-trailer trial.

Background to the longer semi-trailer trial

The longer semi-trailer trial was launched in 2012 following the government鈥檚 logistics growth review. It is anticipated that the 10 year trial will save 3,000 tonnes of carbon emissions and 拢33 million savings to operators. A total of 1,800 longer semi-trailers has been allocated to approximately 150 operators and to date, just over 1,650 longer semi-trailers are either on the road or in build. This document present the findings from the third year of the trial.
