The national framework sets out the government鈥檚 expectations and requirements for fire and rescue authorities. The government has a duty under the to produce the framework and keep it current. Fire and rescue authorities must have regard to the framework in carrying out their duties.
On 15 December 2014 an addendum on firefighter fitness was added to the Fire and Rescue National Framework.
The act requires the Home Secretary to report every 2 years on fire and rescue authorities鈥� compliance with the framework. Reports from 2014 onwards are available.
