This document presents the findings from the second year of the longer semi-trailer trial.

Background to the longer semi-trailer trial

The longer semi-trailer trial was launched in 2012 following the government鈥檚 Logistics growth review. It is anticipated that the 10 year trial will save 3000 tonnes of carbon emissions and 拢33 million savings to operators. A total of 1800 longer semi-trailers has been allocated to 130 operators and to date, just over 1000 longer semi-trailers are either on the road or in build.
