Longer semi-trailers trial: undertaking to be completed by operators

Operators should complete this undertaking form to comply with terms and conditions of our longer semi-trailer trial.

This undertaking should be signed by every operator taking part in the Department for Transport鈥檚 (DfT鈥檚) longer semi-trailer trial in line with our guidance.

By signing the document operators are agreeing that they will:

  • present the longer semi-trailers to Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency for annual roadworthiness testing
  • provide data to DfT鈥檚 contractors, Risk Solutions, for the purposes of monitoring the trial
  • ensure that drivers are appropriately trained
  • inform the Department for Transport immediately if a longer semi-trailer is involved in a serious accident
