The playbook includes 10 principles civil servants should uphold when using AI. It explains what AI is 鈥撀爄ncluding its capabilities, limitations and risks 鈥� and how to select, buy and deploy AI in government.

The playbook expands on the Generative AI Framework for HMG published in January 2024. This updated guidance covers new developments and we鈥檝e retitled it to encompass a wider range of AI technologies.
