These reports support the operational efficiency analysis in the consultation on the Airport Commission鈥檚 shortlisted options for additional airport capacity.

NATS鈥� 鈥楢irspace efficiency report鈥� assesses the ability of the UK鈥檚 airspace systems to accommodate the forecast traffic growth associated with each scheme.

The 3 reports from LeighFisher consultants look at the levels of additional capacity provided by each of the shortlisted proposals, taking into account their:

  • runway
  • taxiway
  • stand
  • terminal

infrastructure. The reports also assess the relationship between terminal space and forecast passengers to produce a metric of passenger experience.

The 鈥楶reliminary safety review鈥� from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) examines likely safety issues associated with each scheme.
