These reports support the carbon analysis in the consultation on the Airport Commission鈥檚 shortlisted options for additional airport capacity.

The 鈥楤aseline鈥� report looks at forecast baseline carbon emissions for Heathrow and Gatwick airports on a 鈥榙o minimum鈥� no expansion basis, over 60 years.

The 鈥楢ssessment鈥� report examines carbon emissions associated with schemes, across a 60 year period, in terms of:

  • aircraft
  • passenger surface access
  • airport operations (energy and fuel use)
  • construction activity
