Consultation description
The offshore Energy SEA (OESEA) was carried out in 2008/2009. Initial work was undertaken for the SEA 8 area incorporating the Southwest Approaches and English Channel, but this was instead included in the OESEA.
OESEA was prepared to assess the implications of further rounds of offshore wind farm leasing in the UK Renewable Energy Zone and the territorial waters of England and Wales; further seaward rounds of oil and gas licensing in UK waters; and future licensing for the underground storage of combustible gas in depleted and other offshore oil and/or gas fields in UK waters.
