1. Get information about your State Pension
Contact the Pension Service to get information about:
- your State Pension
- Pension Credit
- the over 80 pension
- missing Cold Weather Payments and Christmas Bonus payments
- getting extra payments from a deceased husband, wife or civil partner鈥檚 State Pension
- making voluntary National Insurance contributions if you鈥檝e already reached State Pension age - if you鈥檝e not reached State Pension age, call the Future Pensions Centre instead
- becoming an appointee for someone claiming State Pension

2. Claim your State Pension
You can claim your State Pension online, by phone or by post.
If you reached State Pension age before 6 April 2016, you need to claim the basic State Pension instead. If you鈥檙e over 80, you might also be able to make a claim for the over 80 pension.
If you want to claim on someone else鈥檚 behalf, you must be able to manage their claim.
Claim by phone or post
You can claim by phone if you reach State Pension age in the next 4 months.
If you want to claim by post, phone the Pension Service to get a State Pension claim form sent to you.

Contact the International Pension Centre if you live abroad.
3. Report changes of address, bank details or other circumstances
If you get State Pension or the over 80 pension, you must report if you:
- moved to a new address in the UK (only tell them after you鈥檝e moved)
- moved or intend to move to another country permanently
- moved into a residential care home, even if only temporarily (only tell them after you鈥檝e moved in)
- start or stop getting a benefit from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)
- change your bank details
- marry or form a civil partnership
- get divorced or your civil partnership is dissolved
- are widowed or your civil partner dies
- go to prison
- are held in legal custody
If you claim Pension Credit, there are extra changes that you need to report.
