Check a job applicant's right to work: use their share code

Check details of a job applicant鈥檚 right to work in the UK, including:

  • the types of work they鈥檙e allowed to do
  • how long they can work in the UK for, if there鈥檚 a time limit

You鈥檒l need the job applicant鈥檚:

  • date of birth
  • right to work share code

You can also check someone鈥檚 original documents instead - for example if you do not have a share code.

British and Irish citizens cannot get a share code. You can check their physical documents yourself or use an online identity service provider (IDSP) to check them.
