View and prove your immigration status: get a share code

You can use this service to:

  • get a 鈥榮hare code鈥� to prove your status to others, for example employers
  • update personal details in your UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) account, for example your passport number or email address
  • check what rights you have in the UK, for example the right to work, rent or claim benefits

Who can use this service

You can only use this service if you have a UKVI account.

You鈥檒l have a UK Visas and Immigration account if you鈥檝e ever:

  • applied to the EU Settlement Scheme
  • used the 鈥楿K Immigration: ID Check鈥� app to prove your identity when applying for a visa
  • created one when applying for a visa (you鈥檒l have received a UKVI account confirmation email)
  • accessed your eVisa (an online record of your immigration status)

If you do not have a UKVI account

You鈥檒l create a UKVI account when you get access to your eVisa.听

If you cannot get access to your eVisa, there are different services to:

You鈥檒l need:

  • details of the identity document you use to sign in to your UKVI account (your passport, national identity card, or biometric residence card or permit)
  • your date of birth
  • access to the mobile number or email address you use to sign in to your UKVI account - you鈥檒l be sent a code for signing in

Part of Study in the UK on a Student visa

    You'll usually get a decision within 3 weeks.

    You'll need to prove your identity as part of your application.

  5. Step 4 Get access to your eVisa

    If your application is successful, you'll get an eVisa. This is an online record of your immigration status.

    You鈥檒l need to link your travel document to your UKVI account. This should be the travel document you use to come to the UK.
