Abstract

This brief gives context for and provides analysis of the project 鈥楢 Behavioural Economic Analysis of Agricultural Investment Decisions in Uganda鈥. The project was funded by the Department for International Development - Economic and Social Research Council 鈥楪rowth Research Programme鈥 (DEGRP)

Starting in 2012 and wrapping up in 2015, the project 鈥 led by Dr Arjan Verschoor and Dr Ben D鈥橢xelle from University of East Anglia 鈥 investigated how smallholder farmers in Eastern Uganda perceived financial risks, and whether this influenced decisions to invest in productivity-boosting technologies such as fertiliser, seeds and irrigation.
