Abstract

The IIED/NRI/DFID project 鈥楽mall-scale producers and standards in agri-food chains鈥� has now concluded. During the interim review in November 2007, a new activity was identified to improve the impact of the project. This involved the development of a Training programme for buyers in the food industry to inform and build knowledge about international development issues. This report outlines the development of seminars for major UK food retailers, and proposes a project for raising buyer awareness of responsible purchasing.
