Abstract

In order to unravel the linkages between the presence of severe horizontal inequalities and the outbreak of violent conflict in plural societies, this paper compares Ghana and C么te d'Ivoire. This paper was presented at 'Conflict Prevention and Peaceful Development: Policies to Reduce Inequality and Exclusion', a CRISE policy conference held on July 9-10, 2007 at Queen Elizabeth House, Oxford.
