Abstract

This report examines local content policy (LCP) for the Zimbabwe context. Conclusions include:

  • LCP is just one of many policy areas that create the conditions for domestic value addition. It can be effective alongside aligned policies, but lacks the power to counteract other policy weaknesses.

This research is part of the Business Environment for Economic Development programme.
