This Research in Context brief provides context and policy-relevant analysis of the research project ‘Politics, Finance, and Growth�. The project was funded by the Department for International Development - Economic and Social Research Council ‘Growth Research Programme�. (DEGRP)

Led by Svetlana Andrianova of the University of Leicester, the research investigated why many developing countries are experiencing low levels of economic growth, with a focus on how politics and finance affect pro-poor growth.
