Abstract

This research project was based on addressing some of the constraints identified through previously funded DFID research (Crop Protection Programme: R8184 / ZA0503) which showed that rodents could be successfully and sustainably managed by rural communities in a cost-beneficial manner. Good rodent management does not need to be expensive, but it is knowledge intensive. Hence, major constraints related to widely reducing the impact of rodents on people鈥檚 livelihoods include the methods whereby knowledge is disseminated and people鈥檚 access to appropriate knowledge resources.
