Evidence of an ‘invitation effect in feeding sylvatic Stegomyia albopicta from Cambodia

The ‘invitation effect was investigated over 33 days in secondary forest in Mondolkiri Province, Cambodia

Abstract

This article concludes that the ‘invitation effect may be due to a semio-chemical produced early in the feeding process. Incorporating such a chemical into traps designed to control dengue and chikungunya viruses might potentially improve their attractiveness.
