Abstract
Honduras ha sido identificado como el pa铆s con mayor vulnerabilidad en t茅rminos de riesgo, variabilidad y cambio clim谩tico de Centroam茅rica; es por esto que la Secretar铆a de Agricultura y Ganader铆a (SAG) en colaboraci贸n con el Programa de Investigaci贸n de CGIAR en Cambio Clim谩tico, Agricultura y Seguridad Alimentaria (CCAFS) en Am茅rica Latina y con apoyo del Consejo Agropecuario Centroamericano (CAC) presentan el estatus de la investigaci贸n en cambio clim谩tico, agricultura y seguridad alimentaria, as铆 como el marco gubernamental y actores involucrados en torno a esta tem谩tica. El documento evidencia que el pa铆s cuenta con una estructura legal e institucional que promueve pol铆ticas y acciones orientadas a contrarrestar los efectos negativos de 茅ste fen贸meno, colaborando continuamente con organizaciones internacionales, academia y sector privado, sin embargo se mantiene en continuo proceso de desarrollo y mejora para incrementar la resiliencia y adaptaci贸n al cambio clim谩tico as铆 como la mitigaci贸n del sector agr铆cola hondure帽o.
[Honduras has been identified as the country with the greatest vulnerability in terms climate change risk and climate variability in Central America: It is for this reason that the Secretariat of Agriculture and Livestock (SAG), in collaboration with the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) in Latin America and with support of the Central American Farming Council (CAC), present the state of research into climate change, agriculture and food security, as well as the governmental framework and relevant actors involved, around this theme. The document demonstrates that the country features a legal and instiutional structure that promotes policy and actions directed at counteracting the negative effects of this phenomenon, collaborating continually with international organizations, academia and the private sector, while maintaining a continuous process of development and improvement in order to increase the resilience and adaptation to climate change, as well as the mitigation of the Honduran agricultural sector. ]
