Abstract

This issue of the IDS Bulletin, edited by (and with an introductory article by) Pettit and Wheeler, responds to the enthusiasm for 鈥渞ights-based approaches鈥� to development by looking for the deeper analysis and empirical evidence needed to clarify and justify such approaches. Fifteen articles address various aspects of the debate; brief summaries and author details are also provided.
