Abstract
This report covers an 8-9 month period taking forward aspects of project R8349, 鈥淒eveloping Crop Protection Research promotional strategies for semi-arid East Africa (Kenya and Tanzania)鈥�. The project's purpose, nested within the CPP programmes purpose, was 鈥渢he promotion of strategies to reduce the impact of pests and stabilise yields in semi-arid cereal based cropping systems for the benefit of poor people鈥�. The focus was on action research for improved promotional and communication mechanisms relating to crop protection (CP), focusing from sub-national research and extension organisations through to farmers.
