Abstract

This brief is a country case study of Nepal produced alongside the DFID Topic Guide on . It highlights how climate change affects the situation of food security and agriculture in Nepal. The aim is to provide country offices with specific guidance on activities, barriers and opportunities for integrating climate change and Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) approaches within the national context.

The brief comprises 3 sections:

  • Food security within Nepal鈥檚 development context
  • Climate smart agriculture 鈥� approach and options
  • Design and implementation (including recommendations for DFID鈥檚 further work on climate change and agriculture in Nepal)

This Case Study has been produced by the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) for Evidence on Demand with the assistance of the UK Department for International Development (DFID) contracted through the Climate, Environment, Infrastructure and Livelihoods Professional Evidence and Applied Knowledge Services (CEIL PEAKS) programme, jointly managed by DAI (which incorporates HTSPE Limited) and IMC Worldwide Limited.
