Replace a lost, stolen or damaged Driver CPC card

You must replace your Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) card if it鈥檚 been lost, stolen or damaged.

You can get a 拢50 fixed penalty for driving professionally without your card.

You can apply for a replacement card (sometimes called a 鈥榙river qualification card鈥� or 鈥�DQC鈥�) by phone or online.聽It鈥檚 quicker to apply by phone.

It costs 拢25.

You鈥檒l need your driving licence number to apply.

Call the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) to apply. You鈥檒l need a credit or debit card to pay. You can drive professionally as soon as you鈥檝e paid.

Apply for a replacement card online

You must not drive professionally until you鈥檝e paid.

Paying the fee

DVSA will usually call within 2 working days to collect the 拢25 fee. It might take longer during busy periods. They鈥檒l call you between 8am and 5pm.

You鈥檒l need a credit or debit card to pay.

If you miss the call, DVSA will email you to ask you to call them.

After you鈥檝e applied and paid

If you鈥檝e paid the fee, you can keep driving professionally while you wait for your replacement card to arrive.

You鈥檒l need to keep your payment reference number with you when you鈥檙e driving.

Your card will be sent to the address on your driving licence.

If your replacement card does not arrive

Call DVSA if the replacement card does not arrive within 20 days of making your payment.
