Summary

The term refers to the product type and to the corresponding production method. The terms 鈥榩assito鈥� and 鈥榲ino passito鈥� are reserved for PDO and PGI wines obtained from the fermentation of grapes through natural or artificial drying in accordance with the product specifications. Except as provided for pre-existing designations, the term 鈥榲ino passito liquoroso鈥� is applied only to PGI wines.
