Set up a Direct Debit payment with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC).

Online services may be slow during busy times. Check if there are any current problems with HMRC services, or times they won鈥檛 be available.

Before you start

Pay your tax bill by Direct Debit if you have an online account with HMRC for:

  • Self Assessment
  • employers鈥� PAYE and National Insurance
  • Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) deductions
  • VAT
  • Corporation Tax
  • Machine Games Duty
  • Soft Drinks Industry Levy
  • Alcohol Duty

You can also make 鈥榤iscellaneous鈥� payments (with a payment reference beginning with 鈥榅鈥�) if you have an online account with HMRC for one of these taxes.

You must be the authorised signatory on the account you want to make payments from. It must be a UK bank account.
