Can a Marine evacuation system (MES) be approved in accordance with item UK/1.27 if the associated inflatable liferafts are open reversible liferafts?
Recommendation
The answer is 鈥淵es鈥�. A marine evacuation system (MES) using open reversible liferafts can be approved in accordance with item UK/1.27 with reference to the restricted use as permitted by the International Code of Safety for High-Speed Craft, 2000 (HSC Code 2000), as amended.
