TCM1000553 - How to ‘Create Customer� on the National Direct Debit System (NDDS)

Changes to previous version - new guidance

Step 1

  • select ‘Create Customerâ€�. You will be taken to the ‘Create Customerâ€� screen

Note: You cannot amend the customer reference. It will be pre-populated with the reference you used to carry out the initial search. This will be the reference that NDDS gives to the customer for future identification

  • select ‘Personâ€� from the options available in the ‘Customer Typeâ€� field
  • select the appropriate title from the ‘Titleâ€� field
  • enter the customers first name in the ‘First Nameâ€� field
  • enter the customers last name in the ‘Last Nameâ€� field
  • enter the customers full address in the ‘Address Line 1â€� through to ‘Address Line 5â€� field
  • enter the customers post code in the ‘Post Codeâ€� field

Note: Whatever you type in is what will go out on correspondence to the customer. So please pay attention to upper/lower case and ensure that you set-up the full postal address

  • if applicable, enter the customers email address in the ‘Email Addressâ€� field
  • if applicable, enter the customers telephone number in the ‘Telephoneâ€� field
  • select the ‘Welsh Languageâ€� checkbox if the customer requires the ‘Welsh Language Serviceâ€�
  • select ‘Audioâ€�, ‘Brailleâ€� or ‘Large Printâ€� from the options available in the ‘Special Needsâ€� field if required
  • confirm with the customer that the details you have just entered are correct
  • select ‘Confirmâ€�.
