TCM1000448 - How to finalise and/or renew a claim after an appeal has been closed

Changes to previous version - new guidance.

Step 1

On the ‘Function Menu�

  • select ‘Renewalâ€� on the toolbar
  • select ’Manage Finalisationâ€� from the options available
  • select ‘OKâ€�
  • enter the customer’s NINO
  • select ‘OKâ€�.

If you’re taken to the ‘Select Tax Credit Period� screen

  • select the relevant award
  • select ‘OKâ€�. You’ll be taken to the ‘Manage Finalisationâ€� screen
  • go to Step 2.

If you’re taken straight to the ‘Manage Finalisation� screen, go to Step 2.

If you’re finalising an award only, go to Step 3.

If you’re finalising and renewing an award, go to Step 4.

Step 3

On the ‘Manage Finalisation� screen

  • select ‘Processâ€�. You’ll be taken to the ‘Processâ€� screen
  • select ’Appealsâ€� from the ‘Action Authorityâ€� field
  • select ‘As Agreedâ€� from the ‘Finaliseâ€� field
  • select

    • ‘Finaliseâ€� (if CY has already generated an initial award status)

    or

    • ‘Finalise and Renewâ€� (if CY is still at provisional award status)
  • the award will be finalised on the information held.

If an error message doesn’t display after you’ve selected ‘Finalise�, the award will be finalised.

If an error message displays after you’ve selected ‘Finalise�, select ‘OK� or ‘Yes� as appropriate. The award will be finalised and renewed.

On the ‘Manage Finalisation� screen

  • select ‘Processâ€�. You will be taken to the ‘Processâ€� screen
  • select ’Appealsâ€� from the ‘Action Authorityâ€� field
  • select ‘As Agreedâ€� from the ‘Finalise and Renewâ€� field
  • select ‘Finalise and Renewâ€�. The award will be finalised on the information held.

If an error message doesn’t display after you’ve selected ‘Finalise and Renew�, the award will be finalised.

If an error message displays after you’ve selected ‘Finalise and Renew�, select ‘OK� or ‘Yes� as appropriate. The award will be finalised and renewed.
