TCM1000411 - How to reject a claim due to a verification failure

Changes to previous version - new guidance.

Step 1

If you only have to reject the claim, go to Step 2.

If you have to reject the claim and inhibit the award notice, go to Step 3.

Step 2

On the ‘Maintain Worklist� screen

  • select ‘Fileâ€� on the toolbar
  • select ‘Next Functionâ€�. You’ll be taken to the ‘Work Management - Select Next Functionâ€� screen
  • select ‘Manage Verificationâ€�. You’ll be taken to the ‘Manage Verification Failuresâ€� screen
  • select ‘Navigateâ€� on the toolbar
  • select ‘Reject Applicationâ€�. You’ll be taken to the ‘Reject Applicationâ€� screen
  • select the reason for rejection from the options available

Note: In a joint claim, you’ll select the appropriate rejection reason for each customer.

  • select ‘Addâ€�
  • select ‘OKâ€�. You’ll be presented with the question ‘Are you sure you want to reject this application?â€�
  • select ‘Yesâ€�, you’ve rejected the claim.

Step 3

On the ‘Maintain Worklist� screen

  • select ‘Fileâ€� on the toolbar
  • select ‘Next Functionâ€�. You’ll be taken to the ‘Work Management - Select Next Functionâ€� screen
  • select ‘Manage Verificationâ€�. You’ll be taken to the ‘Manage Verification Failuresâ€� screen
  • select ‘Navigateâ€� on the toolbar
  • select ‘Reject Applicationâ€�. You’ll be taken to the ‘Reject Applicationâ€� screen
  • select ‘Inhibit Rejection Noticeâ€�

Note: You won’t now be able to add a Reason for Rejection.

  • select ‘OKâ€�. You’ll be presented with the question ‘Are you sure you want to reject this application?â€�
  • select ‘Yesâ€�, you’ve rejected the claim and inhibited the award notice.
