TCM1000386 - How to use function View Household Account to obtain the outstanding overpayment amount

Step 1

On the ‘Function Menu�

  • select ‘Householdâ€� on the toolbar
  • select ‘View Accountâ€� from the options available. You’ll be taken to the ‘Key Entry Date - Applicantâ€� screen
  • enter the customer’s NINO
  • select the ‘Allâ€� checkbox
  • select ‘OKâ€�.

If you are taken to the ‘Select Award� screen

  • select the relevant award
  • select ‘OKâ€�. You’ll be taken to the ‘View Award Period Summary - Householdâ€� screen
  • go to Step 2.

If you are taken straight to the ‘View Award Period Summary - Household� screen, go to Step 4.

Step 2

If the signals box does not show a signal of ‘Cross Award Transfer Made�, go to Step 4.

If the signals boxÌýshows a signal of ‘Cross Award Transfer Madeâ€�

  • select ‘Postingsâ€�
  • check for any postings that state ‘Cross award transfer to CTCâ€� orÌý ‘Cross award transfer to WTCâ€�
  • make a note of the figures shown
  • go to Step 3.

Step 3

If the last Cross Award Transfer to either CTC or WTC is a negative figureÌý

  • note that the overpayment has already been returned by Cross Award Recovery (CAR)
  • note the correct ‘Overpayment Outstandingâ€� amount shown in ‘View Award Period Summary - Householdâ€� Screen
  • go to Step 4.

If the last Cross Award Transfer to either CTC or WTC is a positive figureÌý

  • note that the overpayment has not been returned by Cross Award Recovery (CAR)
  • note that you are unable to determine the correct ‘Overpayment Outstandingâ€�
  • return to the guidance you are following and continue with your action.

Step 4

If there is an amount in the ‘Overpayment Outstanding� field

  • this is the outstanding overpayment amount for CTC and WTC

If there is not an amount in the ‘Overpayment Outstanding� field

  • an overpayment amount has not yet been returned from CAR.
