TCM1000366 - How to check for an open appeal

Changes to previous version - new guidance.

Step 1

On the 鈥楩unction Menu鈥�

  • select 鈥楢pplication鈥� on the toolbar
  • select 鈥榁iew鈥� from the options available. You鈥檒l be taken to the 鈥楰ey Entry Data - Applicant鈥� screen
  • enter the customer鈥檚 NINO
  • select the 鈥楢ll鈥� checkbox
  • select 鈥極K鈥�.

If you鈥檙e taken to the 鈥楽elect Application鈥� screen

  • select the relevant claim
  • select 鈥極K鈥�. You鈥檒l be taken to the 鈥楢pplication Summary鈥� screen
  • go to Step 2.

If you鈥檙e taken to the 鈥楽elect Application Version鈥� screen

  • select the latest version of the claim
  • select 鈥極K鈥�. You鈥檒l be taken to the 鈥楢pplication Summary鈥� screen
  • go to Step 2.

If you鈥檙e taken straight to the 鈥楢pplication Summary鈥� screen, go to Step 2.

Step 2

On the 鈥楢pplication Summary鈥� screen.

If the message 鈥楢pplication under appeal鈥� displays, there is an open appeal on the claim

  • select 鈥極K鈥�. You鈥檒l be taken back to the 鈥楢pplication Summary鈥� screen
  • go to Step 3.

If the message 鈥楢pplication under appeal鈥� doesn鈥檛 display, there isn鈥檛 an open appeal on the claim.

Step 3

On the 鈥楢pplication Summary鈥� screen

  • select 鈥楩ile鈥� on the toolbar
  • select 鈥楴ext鈥� from the options available. You鈥檒l be taken to the 鈥楩unction Menu鈥�
  • select 鈥楬ousehold鈥� on the toolbar
  • select 鈥榁iew Notes鈥� from the options available. You鈥檒l be taken to the 鈥榁iew Household Notes鈥� screen
  • check the 鈥楻etained Notes鈥� field for any messages relating to an open appeal
  • in the 鈥楾ax Year Based Notes鈥� field

    • select 鈥楢ppeals鈥� in the 鈥楥ategory Filter鈥� field
    • check to see whether there are any open appeals. These will have messages with the prefix AC, AS, AM and AW
  • select the 鈥楽elect Tax Year End鈥� field to check all the available tax years for any messages with the prefix AC, AS, AM and AW.
