TCM1000258 - How to disallow a potential EU CTC/WTC complex claim where the employment can’t be verified

Changes to previous version - new guidance.

Step 1

On the ‘Function Menu�

  • select ‘Applicationâ€� on the toolbar
  • select ‘Correctionâ€� from the options available. You’ll be taken to the ‘Key Entry Dataâ€� screen
  • enter the customer’s NINO
  • select the ‘Allâ€� checkbox
  • select ‘OKâ€�.

If you are taken to the ‘Select Application� screen

  • select the claim with the status of ‘Awaiting Awardâ€�
  • select ‘OKâ€�
  • go to Step 2.

If you aren’t taken to the ‘Select Application� screen, go to Step 2.

Step 2

When the message ‘Details must be recorded in the Capture Application Function. Do you wish to proceed� displays, select ‘Yes�. You’ll be taken to the ‘Applicant 1� screen

  • select ‘Wk1â€� on the toolbar. You will be taken to the ‘Work - Applicant 1â€� screen
  • remove the tick in the ‘Place of workâ€� checkbox
  • enter â€�0â€� in the ‘Number of Paid Jobsâ€� field
  • enter â€�0â€� in the ‘Total Hours Workedâ€� field
  • remove the details in the ‘Employer Referenceâ€� fields
  • remove the details in the ‘Nameâ€� field
  • remove the details in the ‘Payroll numberâ€� field
  • select ‘Addressâ€�. You will be taken to the ‘Address Wizardâ€� screen
  • select ‘Clearâ€�
  • select ‘OKâ€�
  • when the message ‘Address must contain at least 2 lines and consist of A-Z 0-9. â€�,()/& - and space Do you wish to proceed?â€� displays, select ‘Yesâ€�. You’ll be taken back to the ‘Work - Applicant 1â€� screen
  • remove the details in the ‘Telephone Numberâ€� field

Note: You must repeat the above for all jobs each customer has.

Step 3

On the ‘Work - Applicant 1� screen, select ‘Ch� on the toolbar. You will be taken to the ‘Children� screen.

If ‘CC� isn’t shown in the ‘Details� column, go to Step 4.

If ‘CC� is shown in the ‘Details� column

  • select ‘CCâ€� on the toolbar. You’ll be taken to the ‘Childcareâ€� screen
  • select the name of the provider
  • select ‘Editâ€� on the toolbar
  • select ‘Deleteâ€� from the options available
  • when the message ‘Do you wish to delete the details of this childcare provider?â€� displays, select ‘Yesâ€�

Note: You must repeat the above for each childcare provider.

  • select ‘Châ€� on the toolbar. You’ll be taken to the ‘Childrenâ€� screen
  • go to Step 4.

Step 4

On the ‘Children� screen

  • select the relevant child or young person
  • select ‘Editâ€� on the toolbar
  • select ‘Deleteâ€� from the options available
  • when the message ‘Do you wish to delete the details of this child?â€� displays, select ‘Yesâ€�

Note: You must repeat the above for each child.

  • remove any Child Benefit numbers from the ‘Child Benefit Numbersâ€� fields
  • go to Step 5.

Step 5

On the ‘Children� screen

  • select ‘Smâ€� on the toolbar. You’ll be taken to the ‘Summary Informationâ€� screen
  • select ‘OKâ€�
  • when the message ‘The information captured is incomplete. This application will be rejectedâ€� displays, select ‘Processâ€�. You’ve disallowed the potential EU complex claim because the employment can’t be verified.
