Step 1
On the ‘Function Menu�
- select ‘Application� on the toolbar
- select ‘Correction� from the options available. You will be taken to the ‘Key Entry Data - Applicant� screen
- enter the customer’s NINO
- select the ‘All� checkbox
- select ‘OK�.
If you are taken to the ‘Select Application� screen
- select the relevant claim
- select ‘OK�. You will be taken to the ‘Applicant Details� screen
- go to Step 2.
If you are taken straight to the ‘Applicant Details� screen, go to Step 2.
Step 2
On the ‘Applicant� Details� screen, select ‘Ch� on the toolbar. You will be taken to the ‘Child Details� screen.
If there is a date entered in the ‘Responsibility End Date� column for the child or young person
- note the date
- go to Step 4.
If there is no date entered in the ‘Responsibility End Date� column for the child or young person and they have reached school leaving age, go to Step 3.
If there is no date entered in the ‘Responsibility End Date� column for the child or young person, but they have not yet reached school leaving age, the child or young person is still part of the existing household.
Step 3
On the ‘Child Details� screen
- select the relevant child or young person
- select ‘Correction�. You will be taken to the ‘Correction Child� screen
- check the ‘FTE / Connexions� field to see if a start date has been entered.
If no start date has been enteredÂ
- the customer’s responsibility for the child or young person ended on 31 August during that award year or the day before the young person’s 20th birthday
- go to Step 4.
If a start date has been entered, select ‘History�. You will be taken to the ‘History� screen
- where the young person is aged under 20 and no end date has been entered in the ‘End Date� field, the young person is still part of the existing household
- where the young person is aged under 20 and an end date has been entered in the ‘End Date� field, the young person is no longer part of the existing household.
Step 4
Compare the new customer’s responsibility start date to the date responsibility ended in the existing customer’s household
- where the dates overlap, the child or young person is still part of the existing household
- where the dates do not overlap, the child or young person is no longer part of the existing household.
