TCM1000171 - How to exclude a child or young person from a post award claim

Changes to previous version - new guidance

Step 1

On the ‘Function Menu�

  • select ‘Applicationâ€� on the toolbar
  • select ‘Change of Circumstancesâ€� from the options available. You’ll be taken to the ‘Key Entry Data - Applicantâ€� screen
  • enter the customer’s NINO
  • select the ‘Allâ€� checkbox
  • select ‘OKâ€�.

If you are taken to the ‘Select Application� screen

  • select the relevant claim
  • select ‘OKâ€�. You’ll be taken to the ‘Applicant Detailsâ€� screen
  • go to Step 2.

If you are taken straight to the ‘Applicant Details� screen, go to Step 2.

Step 2

On the ‘Applicant Details� screen

  • select ‘Châ€� on the toolbar. You’ll be taken to the ‘Child Detailsâ€� screen
  • select the relevant child
  • select ‘Correctionâ€�. You’ll be taken to the ‘Correction Childâ€� screen
  • enter the date you want to end the customer’s responsibility for the child in the ‘Responsibility End Dateâ€� field

Note: If you need to exclude more than one child, enter the date you want to end the customer’s responsibility for each child in their corresponding ‘Responsibility End Date� field.

  • select ‘OKâ€�. You’ll be taken back to the ‘Child Detailsâ€� screen
  • select ‘OKâ€�. You’ll be taken to the ‘Amend Finishâ€� screen
  • do not complete the ‘Amend Finishâ€� screen at this point, just return to the guidance you were previously following.
