You or your organisation can help people arriving in the UK from Afghanistan by offering: work or job advice to help someone settle in the UK You cannot donate items such as clothes, toys or electrical goods.

You can offer work or job advice to people arriving from Afghanistan if you鈥檙e an employer. This includes: full-time jobs part-time jobs voluntary work career coaching and networking CV help and advice You can offer work to people: with refugee status or humanitarian protection (sometimes called 鈥榮ettlement protection鈥�) who arrive in the UK with the Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP) or Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme (ACSRS) People with refugee status or who arrive in the UK through a relocation or resettlement scheme have the same right to work as those who are born in the UK. Use the right to work checklist if you鈥檙e an employer . What you need to do Download and fill in the form to let the Department for Work and Pensions ( DWP ) and Refugee Employment Network ( REN ) know about work you can offer. Email the completed form to offerwork@homeoffice.gov.uk . What happens next After your offer is received, you鈥檒l be contacted by someone from DWP or REN . They鈥檒l ask you about your offer in more detail and explain what happens next.

Helping people to settle in the UK

Community Sponsorship The Community Sponsorship scheme allows groups of friends and neighbours, charities, and faith groups to support a family when they come to the UK. Community Sponsors receive training and support from the charity Reset. You must be able to commit to offering support to a family for one year. Community Sponsorship support includes: practising conversational English showing people around the local area registering children in schools and adults in English classes helping people access public services, for example, registering with a doctor setting up a bank account finding suitable housing arranging transport and running errands Find out about Community Sponsorship To find out more about Community Sponsorship, contact Reset .
