Valuation Office Agency: placement student programme 2020
The Valuation Office Agency (VOA) is offering opportunities to build a career as a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
Who we are
The VOA is an executive agency of HMRC with around 3,500 people. We value property for tax purposes. These taxes fund vital public services like schools, hospitals and welfare so the work we do makes a real difference to peoples鈥� lives.
We currently have vacancies on our work placement programme, suitable for sandwich degree students who are studying a RICS accredited Degree on the Valuation Pathway. The placement will commence in September 2020.
Eligibility
We鈥檇 like to hear from you if you are currently studying on a RICS-accredited Real Estate, or Valuation sandwich degree course, and your degree is deemed suitable for the RICS Valuation Pathway (denoted by the abbreviation 鈥�(VAL)鈥� in the .
Why join us?
We will support you to start recording experience against APC on the Valuation pathway whilst you are with us, drawing on our extensive pool of experienced APC Counsellors. We鈥檒l do everything we can to make sure that you get the right mix of work and breadth of experience required.
You鈥檒l be given early responsibility for your own caseloads. But that doesn鈥檛 mean you鈥檒l be left to cope alone 鈥� as a key member of one of our teams, you鈥檒l be supervised and supported by an experienced Chartered Surveyor. Working with your supervisor and other team members on valuations, inspections and negotiations, you鈥檒l quickly gain experience. Additionally, your team leader will be on hand to provide you with advice and guidance throughout the programme.
Following your 12 month placement; there may be opportunities to remain working in the agency on a part-time basis around your degree commitments in the final year of your studies.
There will also be an opportunity to gain a place on our structured Graduate programme through internal assessment centres.

Pay
The annual salary for this role is at least 拢22,900 (slight variations for some locations).
