Replacing the use of ‘not otherwise specified waste codes: regulatory position statement (RPS) 241

The waste codes and descriptions given in this guidance match those listed in the:

  • the mobile plant landspreading permits SR2010 No 4, SR2010 No 5 and SR2010 No 6
  • any waste exemption relevant to landspreading

Use the waste codes and descriptions given in this guidance and in your permit. They include waste codes ending in 99 which are wastes ‘not otherwise specified.

The waste producer will use the Waste classification technical guidance or Replacing the use of ‘not otherwise specified waste codes: RPS 241.

In the future, the Environment Agency will change the waste codes and descriptions in the 3 landspreading mobile plant standard rules permits, exemptions and some low risk waste positions. After we have done this we will update this guidance.
