In addition to applying for specific roles as set out above, it is also possible to enter through an apprenticeship, graduate entry programme or profession specific recruitment. Whilst there is no apprenticeship or graduate entry programme for the geography profession yet, a number of our members enter through one of the entry routes for one of the other professions in the Government of which the geography profession is part or through the generalist fast stream and then join the geography profession once they take up post (a number of our members are members of two professions e.g. economic geographers of spatial statisticians):
