Exceptional Financial Support for local authorities for 2021-22

Details of support granted to local authorities that have requested Exceptional Financial Support in financial year 2021-22 and the associated external assurance reviews.

In respect of the financial year 2021-22 the previous government provided 4 councils with support to manage financial pressures via the Exceptional Financial Support process. Additionally, 4 councils received in-principle support but later withdrew their request for Exceptional Financial Support. These are noted in the table below.
