Apply to a court for a family public law order
An online service to allow local authorities to apply for some child protection orders.
Local authorities can use this service to apply for:
- care orders and interim care orders
- supervision orders and interim supervision orders
- emergency protection orders
- other orders under Part 4 of the Children Act 1989
Apply for an order
The service is being phased in across England and Wales from 14 September.
When it is available in your region, you will need to create an account for your local authority, if they do not have one.
To create and account you鈥檒l need your local authority鈥檚 HMCTS Fee Account number to pay for the application.
If you have an account
If your local authority has an account, ask your account鈥檚 manager to give you access.
You鈥檒l then be able to to apply for orders.
Other ways to apply
You can also apply using the C110A paper form.
Post the form and 4 copies to the court, together with:
- any supporting documents
- the fee
Applications made on paper C110A forms cannot be transferred to the online system.
