These statistics covering inspection outcomes for local authority and children鈥檚 homes in England are made up of:

  • key findings, charts and tables in PDF and Word format
  • tables, charts and individual provider-level data in Excel format

The data covers:

  • inspection outcomes for local authority children鈥檚 services inspections, from November 2013
  • inspection outcomes for childrens homes between 1 April and 30 September 2015

The release combines the Ofsted official statistics on children鈥檚 homes inspections and outcomes and local authority children鈥檚 services inspections and outcomes.

This release has been introduced following the consultation on children鈥檚 social care official statistics.

Official statistics are produced impartially and free from political influence.

  1. The file 'Local authority and children鈥檚 homes in England inspection outcomes: charts, tables and underlying data' has been replaced after incorrect historical data were found in the table 'Local Authority Inspections as at 30 November 2015'. This did not impact on the 2015 or 2016 figures.
