Details

Total factor productivity (TFP) is a key measure of the economic performance of agriculture. It represents how efficiently the agricultural industry uses the resources that are available to turn inputs into outputs. The methodology used to calculate the national statistics for 鈥淭otal factor productivity for the UK agricultural industry鈥 has been applied to data from the Farm Business Survey for England to produce TFP for selected farm types. Results for specialist pigs, specialist poultry and horticulture farms have not been presented due to concerns around smaller sample sizes for these farm types.
