Details
This report sets out and comments on abortion statistics in England and Wales for 2022 and provides an update to the ad hoc publication Abortion statistics for England and Wales: January to June 2022.
The statistics are obtained from the abortion notification forms returned to the chief medical officers of England and Wales.
Correction notice
Since the statistics were first published in May 2024, we have published 2 sets of corrections (in December 2024 and April 2025).
The corrections are listed in full in the attachment 鈥楥orrections made to abortion statistics, England and Wales: 2022鈥�.
Correction notices have also been added to the 鈥榙ata tables鈥� and 鈥榓dditional data tables鈥� spreadsheets. Some of the data in these tables has been amended.

Also updated 'Abortion statistics 2022: data tables (amended)' with the revised figures, and 鈥楪uide to abortion statistics, England and Wales: 2022鈥� to reflect these changes.
