Revised information on the overall achievement of students at the end of their 16 to 18 study in England by the end of the 2023 to 2024 academic year.

For schools and colleges this includes:

  • A levels and other academic level 3 qualifications
  • applied general, technical levels at level 3
  • technical certificate qualifications at level 2
  • English and maths qualifications below level 3
  • value added data for level 3 qualifications
  • retention measures

Key headline statistics are broken down by:

  • student characteristics
  • institution type
  • geographical areas based on school and college location

For multi-academy trusts (MATs), data covers attainment and value added in level 3 academic and applied general qualifications, broken down by:

  • student characteristics
  • academy type
  • MAT characteristics (MAT size, number of years an academy has been part of a MAT)

We published provisional figures for the 2023 to 2024 academic year in November 2024. The revised publication incorporates amendments that awarding organisations, schools or colleges submitted to the department after August 2024. We added retention statistics to this statistical release in March 2025.
