Unduly lenient sentence statistics 2016

The number of sentences examined by the Attorney General in 2016 as unduly lenient, including the outcome and details of the cases.

If a sentence given in a Crown Court appears to be very low, or unduly lenient, anyone can ask the Attorney General鈥檚 Office to examine the sentence, within 28 days of sentencing. Anyone can ask for a Crown Court sentence to be reviewed and you can also follow the progress of referrals made to the Attorney General鈥檚 Office.
